Spring is the perfect time of year for outdoor entertaining, and with Mother’s Day around the corner we thought we would share some fun ideas for a weekend brunch.
Make it a “Seed Swap”. Ask each guest to bring a pack of seeds and a fun pot to be exchanged with other guests.
Keep the table top décor simple and in-theme by using a variety of potted plants from your local nursery. Or if flowers are a must-have, try using a variety of flowers all in the same bold color. Yellow really makes a statement.
Create a buffet that will allow guests to snack while easily continuing to mingling. Think of “fork friendly” foods such as:
- Arugula, melon and feta salad and/or a Spring salad with mixed berries served in Chinese take-out boxes.
- Sliced grilled chicken– served at room temperature (it makes preparation easier!).
- Quiches– choose your favorite two.
- Bread and Cheese Bar— a variety of breads and cheeses with complementing spreads.
We know champagne is a must! But also, create your very own juice bar with popular ingredients such as kale, ginger, celery, carrots, apples, beets and lemon.
Last but certainly not least…desserts! Try something different such as a pie buffet (regular or mini pies could work) using several different flavored pies or even an “adult” donut station.
