We just got back from a beautiful week in Hawaii for a wedding. In case you didn’t know, we love the details! When planning a destination wedding we always advise our couples to integrate some of the local traditions into the details. Guests always enjoy it and it keeps the environment you’ve created present throughout all of the festivities. Here are two examples of how we recently infused local culture into a wedding.
The bride wore a double white orchid lei, strung kui poepoe in a circular pattern to create a full festive lei. The groom wore a single strand of white orchids intertwined with a braided ti leaf a symbol of luck and good fortune in Hawaii.
Dark Chocolate Coconut cookies exclusively made by local cookie makers, Honolulu Cookie Company, were delivered to guests’ hotel rooms the night of the wedding. Quite a pleasant treat after burning some extra calories on the dancefloor!
